About Me

Tim Higgins is a Postdoctoral Research Associate and Climate Fellow in the School of Environmental Sciences and the School of Data Science at the University of Virginia. His current research focuses on improving weather forecasts with generative artificial intelligence and advancing the intersection between multimodality and extreme events. Previous work includes detection of atmospheric river events and predicting atmospheric river extremes in subseasonal and climate ranges.
